Was the clutch install straight forward? We're there any specialty tools needed for the job? Thanks
Update:
I blew my rear head gasket right at the 500 mile break in. Gonna be a little bit before I can get back to you about the clutch.

Just take note of the sequence when you take it apart.
Thanks Aaron you guys totally rock and I did watch Hammer Dans video and I’m
feeling confident. Doesn’t look any more difficult than
the 1200 conversion or the cam swap I think I can manage
not to screw up. A change of other unforeseen events
made me have to postpone the project but I may have time
over the next couple of days. Will certainly post back
after. :-)

Energy One Clutch installed today then took a quick 15 mile loop. Wow
I wish I had done this sooner and I bet I’m not the first
person to say that. Really crisp shifts with this energy one
with STP type F auto trans fluid.
My sporty has 34k miles on it all by me, and that stock
clutch pack including the riveted piece looked new.
I’m still happy to have gotten it out of there.
Highly recommend swapping out the stock pack
and also a perfect video on YouTube by Hammer Dan
made the whole shebang from purchase to install
a five star experience. Thanks again guys I’m very
happy and so is my bike she turned 15 years old today
and got a nice birthday present! :-)

I am looking at getting the hammer 1275 for my 06 sporty. Should I look at a new clutch and springs as well

If you are doing the basic 1275, I wouldn't worry with it till it starts slipping, any upgrade power level, yes!

Hammer 🔨 Performance is probably going to
recommend it. That plate with the brass rivets
is supposedly a ticking time bomb that if it erupts
can destroy things inside there. I did a 1212 conversion
and SE 497 cams some years back and was worried
about that stupid riveted plate so for that piece of
mind alone I’m glad I changed out the clutch.
You can also remove it and add extra plates instead
of a performance clutch if you want.

I keep an eye out for signs of the rivets and never see any but I think the previous owner may have done the extra plates. On my list of things to do tho. Pull the cover and verify. Right after I get my this mikuni that came today installed and tuned and these HP Plus baffles put in my Straightshots. They pull way better throughout the whole rpm range.

Seems to be working great I got a couple hundred
miles in and working nice.
