Default Mirror mount thread pitch

Bike is a 2011 Super Low, stock bars, "Live To Ride" (eagle) mirrors. They're too narrow, so I was installing extenders. (Kuryakyn 1444) Found a problem: the threads on the mirrors are only maybe 3/4" past the bottom of the mount, the Kuryakyn threads are much longer. End result: the stock (acorn) nuts won't work.

So...I want to replace them with regular nuts. What thread pitch do I need?

The thread on the stock mirrors is 5/16" - 24 UNF. Or a hacksaw will shorten the over long threads.
