I have put 10,000 miles on my 2003 with 9.5 KB pistons. Home ported heads with oversize valves, W cam and retarded standard ignition module. No issues. I run it pretty hard.

I did my best friends back in 2003. I had no idea what I was doing. It survived, but I wouldn’t run kb in a million years with all the other options out there. You’re not saving any money by running them over other brands. Aren’t they hyper-something pistons ? That have issues? Why bother? Cp or nothing

Somehow I cannot believe you had no idea what you were doing.
You seem to have your current bikes really in the zone.
Mistakes are made and we try to make the best of them. KB's have been redesigned,

Fear is an awful thing.
Hypereutectics do have some good traits to go along with the bad.
Would love to hear some success stories from those that figured out the timing issues and have put on some decent miles,
