Well, there's no edit button on my last post ^^ so I'll have to re-post. I know for a fact now that I have to switch to reserve at around 125-130 miles. I've done it 3 times in a short frame of time. It has almost become routine (when I'm around town) to fill up in the 120's.

I agree, I switch to reserve at about 120. I don't know when I'm about to run out, I would assume a good 30-40 miles after (though I'm not going to push it).

100 miles even yesterday at the pump, and took 2.0 gallons even. I think it was my first 50 MPG day, mixed back roads and interstate riding.

Just ran a test on my 05 xl883l. Ran out on main at 102.5 miles. Reserve was gone at 127.8 miles. Total fill up from bone dry was 3.22 gallons. I had to find out to prepare for upcoming trip. Wouldn't quite hold the advertised 3.3 gallons.
