Default Brembo brakes - a little hand holding please

2005 standard 883 (converted to 1200)

Hi

After reading up a few of the brake replacement threads I have gone and ordered a pair of calipers ( part numbers 43027-08 44023-08 ) and am now trying to find the correct EBC Floating Discs.

I'm after a more experienced player in this market to hold my hand and confirm that I got the right bits for my 2005 rubber mount.

Just had a (very quick) reply from EBC

Hi John,

Thank you for your email.

The FSD004 fits the 883. I have found a 300mm disc that is the same fitting patterns. It is the MD530.

Kind regards

I have no idea which EBC rotor will or won't work. The one thing I think worth mentioning is that many of OEM rotors for the touring bikes don't have the countersunk mounting holes, leading to clearance issues on the Sporty narrow glide front ends. I have no idea which of the EBC rotors may/may not have the countersunk mounting holes.

Do you know if these MD520's are countersunk mounting holes?

From the photos, both the MD520 and 530 have recesses for the bolt heads.

Yeah, I saw that but I never trust marketing photos.
