Above drawing shows only the C/L of the crankpin, and its location at various points of advance (related to ignition advance possibly?).
Pitch circle is a term applied to gears and relates to the way they fit, one to another, as well as the pressure angles involved in the transfer of force from gear tooth to gear tooth.

Yep, long lever and 3 speed, crash gearbox as I call them... 2nd gear suffering a lot from gears hitting each other before engaging as dogs are on the movable 2nd gear...
