Just got back from my pre-paid oil change and service 5k mile @ the Harley dealership. Had them change to the HD Synth as I did @ the 1K change. Did not pay attention to the work order the last time. The dealer, when changing to Synth, deletes the Formula + and uses the Synth in replacement for it. This is for a totally stock sportster. I understand new clutch manufacturers will call for what they request you to use. I will make a oil change before my 10K (last pre-paid) oil change. I will do what Harley does with Synth and put it in both holes. I will try Mobile 1 20-50.

They say it is okay for the clutch too. Go figure. I prefer the Formula +. Let us know if you have any slippage with the Syn 3.

The only clutch I ever burn, when not drag racing, was with that syn 3 oil.

25/60 Phillips Aviation oil.......if it's good enough for a B-17 radial engine, it's good enough for an ironhead.

Won't say why. Don't want to turn this oil thread, into some kind of an oil thread.
