So you are running 15 y/o plugs?

there I can only see two reasons for it:

1. You do very little mileage per year.
2. You are very tight on money.

What gap did they come with? You would expect them to come with correct gap seeing how they are a little trickier to adjust.

The package shows a gap of 0.035 inch.

The XL Sportster should be - 0.038 - 0.043

That would be the correct gap for an XR - 0.032 - 0.038

Im on the SE now and have made the bike run so much better, not sure on the pros and cons but they work for me so thats all im worried about .. gapped at 0.040
