I had the same thought about forgetting to unplug it, so I set a small wood box on my bike seat and set the Battery Tender in the box when I hook it up.

I could easily not see the black charger cable hanging down off the side of my black blike, but there's not much chance of not seeing the wood box sitting on the seat.

I had a Scorpion AGM in my Yamaha for 6 years and it worked great. I bought one for my Sportster and it was dead in a year an a half. It always tested good but wouldn't start the bike. I kept a battery tender on it all the time and the charging system on the bike works fine. I just bought a Yuasa and it seems to work well. I have used their Lead Acid before and they worked well. I hope the AGM type do a s good a job.

I'd forgot about watching this on batteries months ago, it was by FortNine.

I seem to remember after all things considered (initial price, trickle charger price, safety, weight, service life, etc.) I came away thinking the winners were Gel & AGM.

The Gel was slightly heavier though, as I think it's just an AGM with silica sprinkled in to gelatinize the acid.

I have a gel in my old Honda that doesn’t get ridden very much, and an AGM in my Ironhead. The reason I put a gel in the Honda is that gel batteries respond well to charging when they’re discharged quite a bit from unuse. AGM batteries don’t last as long if you let them get close to dead and recharge them.

They go on to say in Item Description - "They are permanently sealed, never need refilling, and are ideal for motorcycles..."
It is not unusual to have a dry charge lead acid battery that you fill with acid.

Once filled and the seal is pressed into place it will be a sealed non-maintenance battery.

ETA: Oops I just replied to a post from page 1.

If you take a look at some chargers you will see they have a cold weather setting. Apparently AGM needs a slightly higher voltage when it is cold.
