Default Sunpie or wisamic upgrade

Quick question, I have a 98 1200c and every where I look it says that the sunpie or wisamic will not fit my headlight bucket. I am wondering if any one has done this upgrade and what are your thoughts......I tried searching but didn't find anything related to the 98 custom.

thanks

The usual issue with pre-2004 headlight fitment and LED lamps is that there's too much wiring/connectors in the bucket for the deeper LED to fit. If you are willing to spend the time re-locating the connectors out of the shell, then there should be plenty of room. I did the Wisamic in a 2002 (but not a "C"), and was able to hide all the wiring under the headlight "eyebrow" without having to cut any wires. I do like the beam from the Wisamic, plan to put one in my '04 as well. That should be any easier fit...

I'll have to pull the headlight and check and see how much is in there.....wiring isn't really an issue that I can relocate if needed. thanks for the response.

There should be at least 2 sets of Deutsch 12 pin connectors and plenty of wiring that takes up a lot of the room. The custom doesn’t have an eyebrow, but you can probably tie it all up behind the bucket with all the other wiring.

I went with a 7” headlight as an alternative. Of course this is a styling as well as functional decision. I wanted a traditional lens look with the big bucket.
