Waiting on some parts to come in to finish the bars so it's onto the headlight. The meatballs springers headlight mounting bracket works as advertised and does the job, but I wanted to mount the slim Aris-style triangle headlight as close to the springs as possible so it was out with the welder and grinder to modify the bracket to suit. It's not perfect but does the job.

Time to finish off the bars. The meatballs springers early OEM style top clamp comes pre-drilled for internal bar wiring. Assuming the bars you’ve welded in are setup for this, running the wires is straight forward and a neat way to clean up look of the springer overall.

Routing the brake line, clutch cable and wiring was a pain to get right but I managed to get everything neat and tidy while avoiding binding when turning lock to lock.

To make the bike legal I need to run indicators; however, the standard HD indicators didn’t look good installed onto the springer upper friction-clamp mounts so I went with xxxx-off bright mini-LED’s there instead. To ensure I’m seen and not run over by a turning bus I also fitted a pair of mini-LED indicators on the mirror mounts.

To avoid ruining the clean look the springer gives the front end by mounting the speedo and idiot lights, I went with a side mount off the front cylinder.

If you’re at this point of the install you’re pretty much done.

Now’s a good time to go back over all your work and double check you’ve fitted, tightened, adjusted, and cleaned everything you need to. Now double check everything again! Remember to grease each of the springer nipples and set a reminder to grease those xxxxers regularly.

The final few things to do are optional but cap off the install. I’m a fan of mechanical locking of the front axle so I fitted a roll pin into the LH side axle nut and safety wired the RH side.

And that my friends is the job done. I’ve got a leaky banjo bolt which is preventing me from getting the bike out on the road but once that’s sorted I’ll post a few shots of the whole bike in all its springer-mounted glory.

For now though it’s time to down tools and admire the back-to-the-future vibe the springer gives the modern sporty with a beer in hand.

I’ve got a few left over shots so I may as well post ‘em up.

I've had to wait for some weather to clear to get some decent full shots - here's a couple...

A wonderful modification, I’ve always been mesmerized by springer front ends, yours is very striking and does add a wonderful stance. Very nicely done now get out in the wind. Let your bonding continue!
