I actually worked forTom Byrnes back in the 80's. Spare parts guy. When Mr White still ran it.
I remember the year it snowed at Bathurst too. Rendered y brass mony's incomplete.
I had to ride from Lithgow to Oberon with the choke on to keep it running. Tried to warm my hands on the exhaust when we got there but by the time I got off and got down to it - they had gone cold !
Went inside the Cafe and ordered two cups of coffee and then stuck my hands into them.
It was cold mate.

Don't know what happened to the shop bike. It was still there when I was buying parts from Johhno. Tony Blain might have got it when he bought them out.
I think your right a UL. I do (did ?) have a picture of the bike outside the shop. It was black and white (All I shot back then) though. Not as good as the color shot you have.
Would love to have a UL now.

Might be. He was a stocky bloke & I think the name "Hairy" was a reference to the top of his noggin.
