Default XB/XR shifter crank?

I bought some rearsets for my Roadster and I'm getting annoyed in dealing with trying to get the screwed up shifter crank replaced. I'm supposed to be getting a replacement, but I'm tempted to modify things regardless.

At this point, I'm questioning whether the XR and XB parts will work instead as both are easily obtained (easy enough anyway... the dealer about an hour away should be able to get both if I don't want to just order online) and have the potential to do what I'm after.

If anyone with an XR can tell me how far out that crank actually sits, that would be great. Trying to figure out if I can turn it sideways toward the derby cover and have it work out. Can't tell how big they actually are, as there's no good picture of the left side of an XR so I have no clue whether I can make it work.

Anyone with an XB that can give me any dimensions would be awesome too. That seems like it could work as well, but I have no idea as to actual dimensions. Not knowing how the XB cases are actually different doesn't help.

I imagine I could make either work with enough tweaking of things, but given the two significantly different options, if anyone can provide any, I'd really appreciate knowing what I'm getting myself into by pursuing either option.

Default

It'd be nice to be able to just bump a thread without a new post. Anyway, anybody able to help?
