Default J & P Cycle Outstanding customer service

I ordered a toe peg, and since I just added a load equalizer, some LED conversion bulbs for the turn signals.
Got a e-mail that the rears were discontinued, so that meant I didn't need the fronts, I'd figured I'd just go in a different direction, so I called customer service and asked if there were something I could do to prevent them pulling, packing and shipping an order I'd end up returning or eating. Real nice lady told me it was already in the pick phase, I told her I understood, I'm a warehouse guy, told her I was just trying to save them some time and effort and a batch of paperwork.

She told me that since I was so understanding, she was going to just credit the bulbs back to my account, ship them anyway and I could just keep the bulbs for the inconvenience caused by the manufacturer's discontinuing the second product while it was still for sale on the site. That's a $30.50 credit on a $55 bill, while still getting the $30.50 product.

I complained about them before when the CS went downhill, so I felt the need to post this up plus the fact I recently (previously to this) purchased a pair of Progressive 444's, a Badlands ATS‑03‑B‑F Automatic Turn Signal Cancelling Module and some cleaning chemicals and received them all quickly and well packaged. I'm comfortable ordering from them and recommending them again.

I have also had some good experiences with J&P. I was sent some oil filters with the wrong J&P stock number sticker on the boxes. One phone call got it straightened out. They sent the correct filters and told me to just keep the incorrect ones because it was more trouble than it was worth to ship them back. I donated the other filters to a charity bike run auction.

Thanks for the update. J&P and Revzilla both have been very good with my numerous orders. I balked at joining J&P's membership club, but given the orders, it has been worth it because of their very wide selection.

My last dealings with J&P weren't good, but that was a couple years ago. Haven't ordered from them since. They sent me Chinese-made brake pads that were clearly marked "Made in USA" in the catalog. I thought oh well, and decided to install them anyway. Didn't fit - they were slightly larger then the stock ones, like someone had patterned an OEM part by drawing around it on a piece of paper with a pencil. Anyway, they took them back and refunded the purchase price, but still dinged me for the return shipping. Sounds like they may be better now, though.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it (especially if you don't know what you're doing). Most Sportster problems are owner-induced.
