Default Installing 12.5" 412's on the 883 Low, will I need to jack it up

I am going to be installing progressive 412's on my 09 883L next week. The HD shop manual says no need to jack the bike up if changing 1 shock at a time, but I was wondering if I was going to need to jack the bike up for the install since I am going with a longer shock than stock. I have a motorcycle lift and can use it if necessary. It's just a real pain in the rear to get my bike on the lift and get it stable. Anybody have experience with this? Thanks.

I have the same bike and the same Progressive shocks. I had to use the lift to install the longer shocks. After years of practice, I can put my bike on the lift without assistance. I always use tie-down straps.

I put the same shocks on my 2007 883 custom and I had to raise the rear end to get them on.
