I love trains, too. In last year's ride report I pictured some of the train places I've visited. And I love history, so that works with trains, as well.

The Sportster production moved from the York Plant to Kansas City in 1998 so your '02 model would have been original assebled there. My 1994 was assembled as an 883 in York and the factory told me it was finished on 3/18/94, Aqua Pearl, first registered at Forge, HD in PA.

Here's the contact info I used years ago: Harley-Davidson - Customer Care Rep - 1800-258-2464 -OR- (414)343-4056 - 8:00am - 6:00pm M-F Central Time

I love PA - That riding stretch (in the video) at the Conewago Narrows is fun to ride, but so are many other places here. The number of twists, back and forth, on that stretch is fun to 'Virtually Ride' from that video, even for me.

I was born here and spent all but 10-years of my life living in PA. Roots go deep. My original family immigrant came to America & PA in 1857. Nine generations since that have lived within 10 miles of his original home.

You'll have to strap your bike in your trailer & plan a couple days off when you get to PA. Park your 18-wheeler so you can ride some of our great countryside on the Sportster.

Strapping the bike to the trailer isn't really a feasible idea, with the company I'm leased to we to too much trailer swapping. I was fortunate that things lined up right to get the bike home from MO that way when I bought it. Maybe someday I can throw it in the back of the old Dodge pickup and head out that way for the big Carlisle Mopar show, and then do some riding around before and after. Kill two birds with one stone.

I'll sure try that contact you listed. The better half checked the paperwork for me last night, the guy that traded the '02 in at Laconia was from Levvitstown PA.

I read some of the ride reports last night. Shame that the East Broad Top is shut down, I was hoping to ride that someday. I'll have to read the rest, you do some good writing and the pictures are awesome.

If you make it to Carlisle with your bike, be sure to let me know - I'd be happy to share some awesome rides from there. Gettysburg is not far.

Thanks for the kind words about the Chronicle. I hope others are enjoying them also. I post regularly to it so I have a record to enjoy in the future when I'm not able to ride any longer.
