Default Quick Reference Chart - Evos - What Parts / What Year

This is a chart of the variation in parts that appear on different years of Sportsters...
For instance, the size of the axles -and- the various brake pads used...
(I've been collecting this info for awhile from XLF and other sources)

Since the XLForum does not allow us to alter posts after a few days,
I'm placing the information here as a digital image file (GIF) so that
I can change that image file as I get updated or corrected information...

Please review the information and let me know what is right and what
needs to be corrected... And post your suggestions for what other
items I should include in the quick reference...

Looks useful!

Comments:

The '98-'03 1200S ignition unit is under the seat.
Front brake master cylinders on single-disc models of that era were 9/16". The twin-disc 1200S, from '96-'03, had an 11/16" ffront master cylinder.
The twin-plug '98-'03 1200S also had W grind cams.

GREAT..

The bearings in your list as Timpken are actually...

Tapered bearings,

Timken company is one company that makes them.. they happen to be the most popular.

National
SKF

are other companies.

Thanks decman - I hope it's useful to you...
Thanks Steelworker & Reddtigger
... that's the kind of help I need...
I incorporated your updates...

Most of the 2014 & 2015 data was simply copied from 2013 - Can someone verify that data?

Also, I collected some data about the Brake Pads - Can someone verify that column??
That column is to point out which year brake pads are the same type/fit.
I'm deliberately not putting any part numbers into the list...

That column is to point out which year brake pads are the same type/fit.
The part number for the '99 FRONT brake pads end with "-83", which denotes that they have been the same fitment from 1983-up. The REAR pad set part number ends with "-87", denoting that it's the same fitment from 1987-up.

The part number for '03 FRONT and REAR pads ends with "-00", denoting the same fitment from 2000-up.

The part number for '13 FRONT pads ends with "-04", denoting the same fitment from 2004-up. The REAR pads end "-07", denoting the same fitment from 2007-up. (The 2006 pads part number ends "-04", denoting the same fitment from 2004-up.)

The XR 1200 front and rear pads are different. Both front and rear pads fit all XR1200s from '08-13.

I couldn't confirm part numbers for 2014 and 2015 bikes.

So, to summarize:

SPORTSTER FRONT PAD TYPES: '83-'99; '00-'03; '04-'13 (and maybe still)
SPORTSTER REAR PAD TYPES: '87-'99, '00-'06; '07-'13 (and maybe still)

XR1200 FRONT AND REAR PADS: '08-'13

Thanks again Steelworker - I've updated the chart with your data...

And I think I finally have an accurate listing of the Frt Master Cylinder Bores...
(although the -R models may still be one-off - not sure yet)
(I took off the 98-03 Sport MC reference since it appears all 1200 models used 11/16)

I hope this can become a sticky because it should be helpful directly to those
looking for information and to those who are trying to help others with their
extensive knowledge of how all these variations interplay with each other...

I've added a date at the end of the year list.
If you've previously copied the chart, you can now check
the date currently showing to see if your copied chart is up-to-date...

As I get more information (or corrections) I'll continue to add to
or correct the information in the chart...

I'm adding this list of search terms to help others find this thread\
when they are looking for a particular subject.

(1) Can someone tell me when the front turn signals also became running lights (on the standard models)?

(2) Can someone tell me if the current standard models have rear running lights with the turn signals? What year did that start?

Thanks
