Before me, but I've always liked that look. A red rim stripe is more common these days if anything, but with tires being as low profile as they are, that works well enough.

That's a lot more universal than white letters to my eyes. Much more difficult to pull off letters on just anything, but the red line works on all sorts of styles without being too ridiculous.
