A thicker seat would have the same effect as lower foot pegs. This is what the Mustang seat looks like:
https://www.jpcycles.com/product/801...SABEgJcG_D_BwE

I think (not sure) there are aftermarket foot pegs available for mid-controls that are lower. I'm 5'6" (used to be taller when I was younger) with a 28" inseam and the mid-controls are at the limit for me. If I was taller, I would have to look for the lower footpegs. I HAVE to be able to ride in an upright position. My handlebars are the lower stock ones which allow me to lean forward a bit when I want to.
I can ride for hours in comfort on my Sporty. My last bike was a Shadow with forward-controls and I couldn't ride more than 20 minutes without going into pain that could last for weeks and an aching right leg.
My shocks look to have 5 settings and is what the manual states for a low model. For comfort I'd imagine the lowest setting and less preload is wanted? I'll have to play around with it next time I ride. Think friday looks decent, I'll have to ride on each setting and see if theres any difference.

That mustang seat looks nice, something I may have to look into if I keep the bike around.

Killed a spark plug wire trying to get it off to measure for the new one, cut the new one wrong since I didn't account for a bend properly... I'm having all sorts of luck with these things today.

But, I did get my XR clutch setup done, so now I've got a hybrid XR Carbonite thing going on in there. Solenoid in the starter is rebuilt now as well. I got the chance to scrape 15 years of oily crud from the top of the transmission while the starter was out too, so it's all nice and bright in there.

I'll have to try again with the plug wires, but this slushy crap doesn't seem to be going away, so it looks like I've got time to work on things.
