Default What jets should i buy? [88 1200]

Hey guys. i plan on getting a tc brothers intake for my bike http://www.tcbroschoppers.com/tc-bro...carbs-efi.html and id like to know what jets ill need. ive rebuilt carburetors before, i know how to work on them but ive never upgraded jets or tuned upgraded jets. so for an intake and drag pipes what jets should i get.

im at 948 feet elevation. and i already have the exhaust. so its probably already jetted for it. it was installed by a previous owner. stock CV carb

If you are just doing air cleaner you should be able to correct the air/fuel mixture just with the idle mixture screw .By tuning it using the idle drop method

If you take the carb bowl off, take a look a what you have now. Most people use a 45 pilot, and on a 1200, probably a 190 mainjet. I have a 180 main in my 883 and the plugs look perfect.

Looks like you have aftermarket drag pipes, which are not great at performance except WOT conditions. The original "H" style pipes are actually much better for street performance.

Just what John Harper said. A 45 on the pilot and a 190 on the main. If a bit lean then a 195. Only make incremental changes and change one thing at a time. That way you know what actually works. It can vary on application as well as location/elevation. I would look into at least putting in some lollipops in the drag pipes.

If the ide mixture adjustment doesn't do it, then one size larger on the pilot jet. Probably be able to leave the main jet as it is.

Don't assume anything about a previous owner setting up the carb correctly - Verify the proper operation of your slide and accellerator pump - Clean out the Idle Mixture Screw - Get your idle and transfer circuits operating correctly and check your plugs for rich or lean at various throttle settings...
