Jesse--a question for you. First, thanks for posting all of this great info, I've been looking for something exactly like this. Secondly, I've got a V&H Blackout 2-1 exhaust, with the HD Heavy Breather, and Mastertune TTS on my '10 HD 883 Iron. I'm looking at adding the NRHS 1250 kit, 536 cams, and am wondering whether there is going to be a noticeable difference for me between the stage 1 or stage 2 head work from NRHS? I'm much more interested in torque than top end speed. Any other thoughts of what I have installed already? I'd love to hit 90/90 but I think that's beyond my financial reach right now...

Default Look at my build

Take a look at my dyno sheet for my 1250 build.

1250 kit, Stage 1 heads, 536 cam. 97.5 HP and 85.5 Torque Lots of potential with that combo.

Note the torque curve. Nice, smmoth and broad. It comes on strong with 60 ft. lbs at 2000 and builds up smoothly to its peak. Thats the Stage 1 heads at work. Improved ports with stock size valves. Those combine to keep the low speed flow velocity up and thus better low end torque. The improved porting helps on the top end. A perfect combination for the street.

It is all a function of the heads, cams and pipe combo but, the 536 cam works well with those heads and exhaust.

I have a friend that does nothing but talk smack about Harleys... He has a Yamaha R6 and my dream is to just shut his mouth about how my sporty will never beat him in a quarter mile, how far do i have to take my sporty to do this? i know its possible but i was just wondering if anyone was competative like me. I love speed but i believe i can do it with my sporty and i refuse to support japan. is it possible?

A 100 hp sportster with a good rider could easily beat an R6 if it has a stock wheelbase as he will be way behind after 60 feet due to the fact he cannot launch it hard without flipping the bike. Sportsters with their longer wheelbase launch really well.

I agree...and if the sportster has the power to keep the gap at the 1/8 mile then you will kill it in the 1/4... It's actually easier than you think, unless the track has corners

It's possible even if the track does have corners. One lap later, this R6 pilot was slightly embarrassed.

Good info.Would be good to have the final timing, and ignition curves for certain cam choices that worked best.
