Thanks for the kind words Joe!
My FLH has had more than its fair share of the spotlight though - she's won loads of trophies, but my favourite must be the 'Best Bike' chosen by Jean Davidson and her son Jon a few years ago, when they visited the blacksmith's cottage in Aberlemno, Scotland, that her ancestors lived in before they emigrated to the US.
I guess all the other Harleys attending were out of luck - when they announced my bike was the winner, Jean said she didn't like Harleys with skulls on them, nor which had the word 'xxxx' on them! Jon was really into Panheads, and the FLH was the closest thing!

My FLH is also a movie star!
I bought it from a very busy movie stunt man named Jim Dowdall... http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0235695/
... so the bike was always around when the movie, tv drama or magazine ad needed a motorcycle.
Amongst many others, she has appeared (mainly dressed as a US police special) in the Pink Floyd movie 'The Wall', episodes of 'Red Dwarf', 'The Professionals', 'Hart to Hart', etc...

Thanks for the kind words Lucky.
The Sportster has put on a couple of pounds since I first built it.
We'd been at a rally in the south of England, and were setting off for the 450-mile trip home, when the Sportster hit a big road seam on the 4-lane highway at 70mph, and the Lithium battery suddenly caught on fire - the bump (nothing outrageous) had caused an internal short.
I was following behind on my FLH, when she just started to bellow smoke like a shot-up Heinkel bomber!
Intercoms are great, and I managed to guide her to a safe area of the busy highway to get the battery out - not difficult as the terminal posts had melted!
No other damage, and to cut a long story short I went to my local H-D dealer when we got home, and bought an OEM Harley AGM battery - weighs a ton, but gives much greater peace-of-mind!

Wow. Glad the bike (and your lady) didn't catch fire! I was toying with putting a lithium battery in my Sporty, but your experience has changed my mind(: Seriously though, Your work on that bike is just great.

That's some battery story Big AL. Glad it all worked out without further issues. Never heard of a lithium battery doing that. Hopefully it was just a rare occurrence. "A couple of pounds"; my lithium battery is 13 pounds lighter than the original 17 pound H-D AGM battery.
