If you know how to watch for the shiny spots, watch for leaves, the slick paint, etc. you would be surprised at the amount of traction available on wet roads.

Technically speaking, a clean dry road doesn't provide much more traction than a clean wet road, I think I saw about 90% somewhere. But, we all know about oil, anti-freeze, puddles etc (some could have potholes!). Of coarse, you have to look for those on dry roads, too and the cagers drive even more crazy on the wet.

They key to wet roads and rain is to be smooth on the throttle and the brakes, good tires properly inflated and designed for wet pavement and stay alert.

I prefer the handling of my motorcycle in the rain compared to my automobiles, not crazy about getting soaked, but I dry out just fine.
