Probably a Datsun 710 wagon that I bought when my first daughter was born. Couldn't haul her in the Triumph TR4. Leaky head gasket, bad tires & not much power, even when running well. A close second was a Renault LeCar, ran good after tune up but had horribly squishy suspension, the French cars are weird. The up side of the LeCar was I paid $125 for it, put $50 into a tune up & new muffler, drove it for 2 years and my wife sold it to a hippy for $600!! SWEET!!

In the military it's common to buy a crappy car when you transfer overseas, usually from the local base "lemon lot" where outgoing members sell cars they don't want to ship. Not all are lemons though, I HAVE bought a few nice cars in that situation.

Not quite the worst car I had but pretty close. My first car & winter beater was a POS 1971 Vauxhall Victor FD like this. It was 8 years old & the rust monster had a good chew of it! The salt air of the Lancashire coast meant it dissolved faster than I could weld the holes up. In the end it used nearly as much oil as petrol & went to the scrapyard. A few were sold in Canada as Envoys though I doubt there are many left over there.

My wife went ahead and bought a Dodge Omni even after I told her it was a pile (she hates spending money and it was way less than anything else). She found out I was right. It was in the shop more than out. Traded it in for a Camry after two years.

Before the internet we had Consumer Reports annual car edition with reliability data. Worked for me.

Ford Explorer, very old one. I loved that car actually, but it was too old and I spent more time in the garages than driving it. I also got to know rockauto and their customer service very well https://rockauto.pissedconsumer.com/...r-service.html. I guess it was a good experience for me and i am not buying cars that older than 5 years anymore

The Algonquin Chariots exported to Rome then, had the worst QC and forgetaboutit customer service.

First you get a Ojibwe on the scroll, and bam, transferred to arrow brought by Fox-Sauk-Kickapoo.

Never again...never, they are dead to me.
