I didn’t think they were that difficult to find. I stopped picking them up at swap meets because there are always 5 or 6 for sale. Of the 10 or so I have, I know I didn’t give that much for any of them.38’s or 44’s.

Is that because you bought it, I hope?! If not, maybe hit up iron mike. If you’re serious about putting a mikuni vm on your bike, you’ll want one of those backing plates.

I didn't see it until this morning. Maybe he'll list it again. It didn't say it was sold, only that the listing had ended.

Maybe you can try contacting the seller?

I just looked at that listing again and it says item no longer available - someone scooped that up.

"superior": adjective, means "I like it".
Who doesn't agree with you? Mikuni.

Iron Mike— I just sent you a pm regarding your backing plates. Would like to buy a 38 mm one if you are willing to part with one.

the vm series has a rich history in the two cycle world including all arenas.
super simplistic and easy to tune and the best part, no accel pump and issues. try a manual foot start when some yahoo has flooded the jugs while you are away.
i put one on in 1975 and still kicking with 180k. the only work done was a new needle/seat assy for the fuel inlet. parts are easy to get and a lot of rice shops have them.
the big draw back is limited sizing.
the no hands starting is a plus. another plus is if you leave the enrichen circuit on, it drops out with throttle opening.
