It won't help during your run but it will improve the engines' manners during your warm-up and pre-stage stuff.

At 13-1 compression, 4.13 gears and a 28oz fuel tank, it's not a street bike at all.
As tomcat said, return road and staging riding is longer than the pass itself. So why not have the voes pulling timing for those times.
