Nostalgia sells. I’m a millennial but I respect the heritage of things. I do think that one year only AMF inspired tank decal they used on the Iron 883 is a bit corny.
Dodge been doing the same thing for years with the Scat Pack name and decals, etc., Mustang with the Mach 1, etc. It’s all over the place.
The Iron 883 is nothing compared to Harley’s revival series:

The guys who do these things have nothing to do with manufacturing.
This comes from the marketing "team".
Once your marketing team start getting more people and money than your design team your product will not improve.
Honda once glued fake plastic bell mouths to the sides of a CB750. I sh*t you not. That sort of thing should be embarrassing to anyone, let alone a factory.

Triumph still fit fuel injector throttle bodies that look like Amal monobloc carbs. The buyers seem to like it.
