Patrick, do you have any butt-ugly, dog eared, stock bikes, maybe from the mid 70's that no one cares about ?
Seems like everything you have is exotic, beautiful and ultimately desirable.
Some of us are now gripped with envy, almost to the point of depression. Please tell us that you have some junk stashed away that we could snear at.
And I do applaud your hard work and perseverance.

Quote:
Panic: The 45 WR Daytona etc. racer used 428-2 primary chain (1/2" × 5/16" × .335", same as the big twin except for number of links) in place of its normal 35-2 (3/8" × 3/16" × .200") and matching engine sprocket and clutch drum.
Did any KR do this? Or was 35-3 (the stock chain) durable enough?
|
No, Jeff, KR is same as K, triplex chain apart from number of links depending on primary ratio. From memory, don't quote me on that, engine sprocket could be 20, 25 or 30 teeth to narrow 5 plate clutch with 59 teeth.

Gene, I've made my fair share of mistakes over the years...
Even bought once a Honda CL 500 just because it had sand cast heads and barrels and I thought, silly me..., I could live with it... Soon got rid of it, to damn similar to a gutless 2 stroke engine...
I only was an industrial electrician you know, and now retired, but unlike some, I cant see the point in having 100 bikes that are worth 100 dollars each... So, skim and scrape till you can get good stuff that I like...
My most downtrodden bit could be this 1948 2 stroke 125cc Jonghi... I look at it everyday and think What I am gonna do with this??? It's deffo in my way and bothering me!!!
I'm a sadist... Next week I'll do a photo shoot in front of me house with the XLR-TT, the supercharged KHK and the KRTT together...
So you'll have to do with this at the mo...
(the chase is not finished anyway... Looking at other Jonghi and XLR-TT at the mo...)
(In fact the chase never ends!!!)
