Default 09 883L starts but dies, new fuel pump

Picked up an 2009 883L with 4K miles last year. Wouldn't start after the winter.
Just got around to playing with it now and turns out the fuel pump was shot. Replaced it with an All Balls unit and a new battery and it fires up but won't stay running for more than a second or two. I've checked the wiring and everything seems fine. I also replaced the quick dissconnect lower oring and the little one in the fuel line(had to use one from a Harbor Frieght assortment pack which wasn't the exact size but it worked) because of a leak. Did some research and seems some suggests replacing the crank position sensor.
Don't really want to be throwing parts at it and figured maybe I could tap into the vast knowledge base here for some advise. I'm a newbie to Harley's and relatively new to riding. Any input would be appreciated. TIA.

This may sound stupid, but worth checking out...Pull up jiffy stand before starting her up.
My friend's Softail was doing exactly this, all because of the stand sensor "thinking" the bike was in gear.
Other than that, does the fuel actually reach past the injectors? they might get gunked up and not spraying enough fuel. Easy check - start her, and when she quits, take out spark plug(s) to see if they are wet.
On replacing the O-rings, if the replacement little one was not the right size, it could well prevent the spring/pin being pressed deep enough to let the fuel pass into fuel hose/injectors.
