Got the most beautiful 2001 Sportster 883 Custom in mint condition with only 8k miles on it

Keep the 2001 883, do nothing but ride it. Sell the "upgrade" stuff you bought for the "build", and start a search for a reasonably price RK.

Everyone’s situation and feeling will be different. I bought my 2004 883 brand new. I actually had to order it and wait three months for it to arrive. I love it more every time I get on it. This past Spring I was thinking maybe I wanted to get a new Low Rider S. I weighed the pros and cons. Nope. I love my Sporty, I’ve spent all these years adding things to make it comfy and just right right for me. So I decided to put a Hammer 1275 and other goodies on it myself. I just got back from riding today, and rode all day yesterday. Every time I twist the throttle I smile and know I made the right choice. Every time I get home and park her back in my garage I smile and know I made the right choice for me. If you don’t feel that way then maybe you should unload everything and get the bike you want. Me, I’m in love with my hot rodded Hammer powered Sportster for life! Good luck!

I agree, love my little Hammer 1250 hot rod! Almost 31 years since I picked it up brand new at Los Angeles HD. It's a keeper for sure.
