I do like to eat them. I just don't like them running into me while I'm riding. I hunt for revenge now.

A magnum is better than a XL for hunting.

I like to go for an after work sunset ride out to a prairie forest preserve. Generally see 50-60 deer, about five doe for each buck. Fantastic thing just chomping 100 meters from the road.

Then I turn left and 10 mikes later run into a farm that keeps bison as pets/conservation. Cracks me up because you don’t expect to see a big a$$ buffalo staring at you from 5 meters away as you come up to a stop.

Deer are most active at dusk and dawn. Half moon or greater nights.

So, pay a wee bit more attention at those times and slow down if you have deer in your area. Worst season is September to early November.

I have to play dodgeball with a herd of 10 that live in my neighborhood. I have two blind curves on an elevation change, and have learned to change my line real fast.

It really does suck to hit deer, though my worst accident was when a flock of fat geese landed in front of me. Plowed into them doing 40-50. Mess of birds, feathers, and noise. Beat the hell out of the bike, and me. Turns out 12 lb birds hurt like hell when you hit them.

A few years back, while driving up to deer camp along back roads, a small spike tried leaping over the hood of my old Blazer. Didn’t make it. Came through the windshield and his body pinned my hands to the steering wheel while his head and neck pinned the windshield to my face. The “A”pillar broke his back and his rump took out the side mirror and drivers window “cold cocking me”. Regained consciousness and crept off to the shoulder pushing the windshield and deer off the hood. Bottom line, cost me 16 teeth, and 30% vision loss of the left eye. Had small pieces of glass wash up from in the eye socket for a couple years. I thought I was prepared running below the speed limit on cruise control with my foot poised above the brake pedal. Not, a quick trip to the E.R. and my son and grandson came down for me. Parked the truck at a farmhouse and retrieved it the next day. Venison has always tasted good, now it’s even better!

Overhere we have deers and boars
amazing wild born free creatures
they could be lethal for riders... even for cars ones
i had some close calls with both on mountain

It's not their fault though... they are trying to survive... like every living soul

the culprit are the administration of that territory who don't give a damn about that problem... many times too busy in other issues... like the next election pools

my father was a lifetime hunter
when young went shooting with him a few times
then the Army made me end my love for shotguns

Now
i am not pleased in ending souls if I am not forced to

A friend hit a wild pig with his dodge 4X4 and it took the front axle out from under it.

Same road years later another hit a pig on his XL and broke his pelvis, somehow lived.
