I was 15 and lived 12 miles west of NYC. I had an OtB job cleaning offices for 2 hrs each weeknight and made $5.50 a session. Good money back then.
I could jump on the bus after school and go to the Ticketron and get tickets for almost any show and be back in time for work.
Then, at 16, I got a job selling electric appliances right across the street from the Ticketron which was even better. I was right there 6 days a week.

The Filmore East was $6.50 for the better seats. Three or sometimes four bands per show.

Even going to all those concerts I still managed to save up $450 to buy my KHK for my 17th Birthday.
