quick update..
Pistons and associated parts arrived... A couple sets of engine gaskets showed up... Hammer man sent me to Zippers for 570XR but Ive decided on the 315/316XR at .466 lift as I'm not going salt flats LSR racing... and way less grinding on the case to get them to fit. so I need to run a compression check and pull down the motor. whilst the cams are away for some new lobes I'll get the piston clearances checked and set and the ring end gaps squared away. A mild street build so I'm not doing the crank wiper, pining the cam bushings or the butal clutch mods... and the motor will be out so clean
and finish a couple of weldy things on the frame and swingarm (new shock mount brackets i fabbed up eons ago) paint the frame and reassemble. Ive already replaced the press in exhaust spigots in the heads a while back.. I think all the other trick parts are in the shed... Alloy XR tank needs to be polished, vrod hydraulic clutch master for the hydraulic clutch slave... new wire harness. Not gonna run turn signals just LED head light and some brake lights on the frame horns... oh Im gonna fab up some alloy front and top motor mount brackets and a better steering damper mount. I have to figure out a tach GPS Speedo combo.. and a kill switch for the bar...
Might do an oil cooler not sure yet... if I can find a good deal on a setrab or some such... choices... Oh and ill have a PILE of XR stock takeoff parts to unload...

Nice broad cam and the ramp must give a nice smooth opening.

oh no sorry I just saw this... that's a set of cams that I got from Mert Lawwill who had a batch made that will work with XR style heads on a Rigid EVO sportster cam box... STD went under and took my $750 deposit on a set of EVO XR heads with them...
