Default no gas getting into carb?!

Have a 2000 sporty with a stock CV carb. bike sat for a couple of months during the winter and gas went bad. not my first time cleaning a dirty carb, but first time it won't start after spraying with cleaner and dunking it in seafoam.

after many failed attempts i have noticed that the bowl does not fill with gas at all! the float is not stuck. the float pin is free (moves in and out). gas comes out the tank just fine and uses a gravity fed valve. diaphragm is good. all hoses connected. does there need to be vacuum to fill the bowl? any help is appreciated.

Are ya certain that ya have enough gas in the tank? I don't know squat about yer year bike, but if you remove the fuel line from the carb and put it in a container, turn the petcock on and it flows, then ya don't have a vacuum operated petcock and ya know that gas is flowing freely.

Look at the petcock. If one fuel line leads to the carb bowl and another leads to the manifold, then ya have a Vacuum tap. Remove from manifold and apply vacuum with yer mouth. No, you won't get a mouthfulla gas! Now fuel should flow.

BTW, I would completely disassemble and clean the carb thoroughly. But that's just me...
