Did a testdrive: idle is ok, reacts ok... but sluggish from 0-50mph.

Above 60 mph, engine hesitates, some sputtering and stalls of if I don't slow down to 50 or less, then it stutters and after a few minutes it picks up again. I have tried this 4 times, same results. It feels like running on 1 jug as well. When I enter slower speeds, I feel both cyls are working again.

Coil is 5 ohm and since it runned ok on that, I leave the coil as is.
When at home I checked the plugs.
Front is black, not wet anymore.
Rear is black brownish.

What do you think:
Jets, Float level?

Thanks and have fun.

That is plenty of fuel flow. Does the float needle valve stop the flow when you gently lift it with your finger?

I would check two more easy/free things before going any further.

You need to be sure your fuel tank is venting properly. If it is not vented, air can't get in, and the subsequent low pressure will prevent fuel flow. I know it passed the fuel test earlier, but try riding with the fuel cap loose to ensure air can get in.

Second, check the float height. There is carb specific info on that in the service manual, or you can find many threads on here about that.

If you get through these without finding anything, I would be inclined to swap the old Bendix back on and try another test ride.

Assuming the Bendix restores good running, with the CV off of the bike you could do a complete tear-down of the CV and rebuild it.

hi all,
We have been setting the float hight and did a check again on the jets. slow 45 and high 185. After adjusting the float and putting in a new needle, the engine runs perrfect.
Thanks for all advises.
cheers
