I've also put a valve impression into a piston dome.the steel valve survived the pushrod bent.i've bent valves when they got stuck in the new guides.steel valves colliding will not survive.all 4 brand new valves had to be replaced.

A spun press fit is now a worn press fit. I've not personally degreed then TIG welded cam eggs to shafts as I don't mess with racing 45s etc, but I'm sure someone here has who can offer advice. Unless the cams are expen$ive aftermarket parts you REALLY need to save I'd replace them as a set. Good time to upgrade..

I ended up reading this thread: http://xlforum.net/forums/showthread.php?t=1222275

So I will replace my PB cam for the original B cam. Since I’m just cruising with by bike I think they are a better fit.
