Default Last Ride of the Year - aka Stagecoach

In the Long Distance Riding Community there is an annual event called "The Last Ride of the Year" or "Stagecoach" This has been a tradition for the past 23 years and up to 600 - 700 bikes show up on nice days, and this year was a very nice day. The location: just down the road a piece from me in Stockton AL at the Stagecoach Cafe

I finally got a chance to head down this year. Here is a link to my ride report

Enjoy!

PS - this event is actually open to all. It would be cool to get an XLforum contingent to show up for 2021.

It sounds like you had a good adventure. Thanks for posting the pics.

I almost always find a different way home other than backtracking the way I went - even when I'm only running errands across town. It seems like such a waste to re-see the same terrain again so soon (even if it is in reverse perspective).

Maybe this year we'll get a chance to meet (finally) and share some roadways together. Since I'm a fair weather rider (and retired), that means my plans are mostly last-minute and often late in the morning (or early afternoon), making long-distance rides less likely. When I do ride, I try to avoid the interstates... It's much more enjoyable doing 50 on the country roads and thru the twisties than plowing wind down the interstate at 70... But that means it takes longer to get where I want to go (when I have a destination)...

I've been trying to get to Reading to visit the Pagoda - So maybe that would work out sometime this year as a place to meet & ride - We'll see...

Come on Spring Time!!!

There really isn't much to see at Barber.
They only have 6 Sportsters

It was a good adventure, albeit rather short. Either way home I was traveling roads I had been on before but it was a good change.

Look forward to meeting you as well.

Okay Chris, just a side note my father served on the Iowa, yes them guns are huge! Also, I did my annual New Years Eve run,(alone), which is more the norm. Temps were 20F’s after 2” of snow earlier in the day. Had snowfall start up after departure so cut it short at about 90 miles. Got the last ride of 2019 and first ride of 2020!
