Ditto. Speeds got nothing to do with it. In November when it starts dropping below 40 degrees... full face and windshield.

Arrow Getting one....

For long hauls on the So-CAL freeways I'm getting tired of constant wind buffeting all the time. For short scoots, it's not that much of a hassle but on some runs, like a few hours to Vegas on the super-slab at a consistent Warp 7, I want to reduce the constant beat-the-crap-outta-ya buffet.

Planning on going with the H-D quick release just like the ones friends have on the newer models. Only takes a couple of minutes to put in place, so long-hauls should be easier on the old body.

I don't like the look of them but I can't deny the protection it gives you from wind, debris, and the cold air in the winter. I voted for never but of course I could end up getting one somewhere down the line, but for now the wind doesn't bother me much.

I like riding short distances 150-200 miles or so without mine, but if I'm going to put on a few hundred miles or I'm trippin', no question; I'll attach it and be thankful for it. Same thing for cold weather. I like the wind, but long distances at highway speeds play havoc with my neck, whereas I'm not bothered at all with the windshield on. I don't have any buffetting at all with the quick-detach at least up to 110 when I was trying to see what others said they were experiencing. Clamp-on, clamp-off...best of both worlds!

100 miles is a short ride for me, & at 56 yrs old, I've nothing to consider but my own comfort. Ride 'em any way you like, but Ride 'em!

Super Sport stays on just about all the time. Its just practial, am commuite is barable with it and I always think about fliping it off but don't unless the temp gos over 80. Keeps all the flying debris off, and not just bugs.

When I feel the need to get a windshield, I'll bed sure to get the quick detatch!! That way I can put it on my jazzy scooter when I'm not on the sportster!!!

Double ditto. For me, below 55 degrees and the windshield goes on.

oh yea the random little pebbles thrown up at 70mph would hurt like hell if it werent for the windshield Saw one rock hit it and if it hadnt been there would have caught me in the cheek, and with a 1/2 helmet that would hurt

Cant bear the sight of one on a Sporty.
If a bike comes with a windshield/fairing such as a Roadking,E-Glide ect,
I find the look more acceptable.

(Was that better, Xena?)
