Default Help me figure out weird engine braking.

Hi. I've had trouble with my case studs pulling out for awhile. Even got my torque wrench calibrated and they keep pulling. Parked and waited a couple weeks to fix pulled stud. Got motor all bolted together yesterday and bike has no power like it won't even rev up with no load and the rpm drops quick. When I let off the throttle it engine brakes really hard. Kind of disconcerting as if the brakes were stuck on. Also dropped the cylinder from like shin height onto some rags. Everything seemed straight, but even that's entering my head now. Maybe my cylinder's bent?

I thought I may have swapped the pushrods on accident so ripped it apart to check and they were in the correct orientation. I was thinking bad valve or bad/clogged fuel injector. Would either of those cause the engine to brake really hard? I'll check the compression later today to see if there's anything funny. Maybe disconnect each fuel injector and see if anything changes.

You guys got any advice on a course of action? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

It's a 2016 with a hammer 1250 and fp3 by the way.

How does the engine feel if you turn it over by hand?

Ok, I spun the motor by hand. There's like a whistling and seems like more resistance than there should be with the plugs out. Maybe the breathers are clogged somehow. I took the breather bolts out and they seemed to flow fine. Maybe there's a clog somewhere else? I'm waiting on someone to come over to rotate the motor while I listen. Here's a video.

Or maybe it's just a bent valve? I'm frantically googling, but not sure what to look for. What would cause more compression? Turns out I traded my compression test kit for a fuel system test kit. I'll go get another one if I need to though.

Edit: I've also just learned about wet sumping. Can wet sumping cause enough resistance to keep the bike from even wanting to rev? Maybe this is my issue. I don't hear any clicking/pinging. It just sounds like something's holding the motor back, like to 1/3 of the power.

Nope. Just sounds like there's something holding the engine back. It seems to idle alright.

I haven’t personal experience with Sportster wet sumping, but a crank completely submerged in oil is going have trouble revving up.

A bent valve should be obvious, a weak or dead cylinder. Bring each cylinder to TDC, put compressed air through the spark plug hole (with and adapter) and listen for leaks.

Drain (as changing oil) and measure
Did you recently let the bike sit for a while, find the oil tank low and add?
