Everything I did was "classified, off the record", they didn't give ribbons and metals to us (originally there were 13 of us), cause we weren't supposed to be where we ordered to be and we weren't supposed to do what we were ordered to do. Hell, I didn't even get a "Good Conduct" metal, but I do wear my sniper's pin , it's on my vest............

National Defense [gee-dunk], Viet Nam Service, Viet Nam Campaign, Viet Nam Honor Service, Good Conduct, Combat Action, couple more but I forget. Glad to see you boys have been busy. Although this is not one of my more favorite threads as spending time in hell wasn't any fun. If it wasn't for medals and ribbons there wouldn't be any war. Just an opinion from an honorably discharged and decorated vet.

I've got about the same situation as Dar. My DD214 say "because of the classified nature records are retained at blah blah blah". It's been a long time but I do know I got 5 Air Medals (4 Oak Leaf Clusters) and the usual assortment of National Defense, Good Conduct (my didn't get caught medal), Outstanding Unit, Viet Nam, Korea, etc.

The usual unit medals but the one individual medal I received was the AF Commendation Medal. Since I was a Minuteman III Missile Systems technician, the farthest overseas I could go was to Malmstrom AFB, MT! 1973-1979

One or one hundred one
If you served, be proud.
If you didn't, be proud.

The military can't get it's job done without the support of the civilians.

So I say that all have served the best they could.
