Procedure #1 is how to disable the security systems for 04'-06'....has nothing to do with swapping one module for another.

Procedure #2 works for everything (new TSM, TSSM, HFSM and ECM)...however, there are additional steps not listed when going from TSM ---> TSSM or HFSM which I don't show. Until you complete those steps you are correct....it won't work.

i posted my other reply probably in the wrong forum. i tried to relearn as in table 2. but i have no speedo to watch lights but waited about 12 minutes instead of 10. also, i do not have a run button....just a key that goes to power and a push start. could that me my problem? at this point i am about to give up....

Default invoke ECM relearn

I need to clear the adaptive fuel values from my ECM. No tuners, no plug-ins, just a stock setup. How do I invoke the 30 minute ECM relearn procedure?

Not the password relearn procedure, since I have no security/password anymore.

Adaptive fuel values??....what the heck is that?

You talking about what the computer has "learned"??

Also....just because you don't have a security doesn't mean you don't have a password. That always exists between the ecm and tsm.

Hi. I have a same problem of our friend user "nmmf". I have a XR1200x 2011 with new TSM and this procedure not work to me too. The light of security not show-me how this tutorial learn. Someone can help me?

Ps: Sorry my English too, i'm Brazilian.

One more information.

I try this procedure (http://www.nrhsperformance.com/tech_xllearn.shtml) and on the step 4, the check engine lamp not lights briefly...

"4. Turn Ignition key Off-On quickly. Verify the Check Engine lamp illuminates briefly and then turns off. " THE CHECK ENGINE LAMP NOT ILUMINATE ON THIS STEP.

Some Idea?

I really sad with this situation. I buy my First Harley 1 month ago and i never hear your sound. ;(
When i buy it, she was without a TSM Module. I buy one TSM Sportster 883 used and install them, but not work.

Hi Cosmo. Thanks for your attention. I'm living in the state MINAS GERAIS, 500km of São Paulo, see ()

Well, i try to procedure 2# of your post and a step 3 happen a first error.

Step 3 = Turn Ignition key on / Verify check engine lamp and security lamp iluminate
and then turn off. (MY SECURITY LAMP ALWAYS STAY ON. HE'S NEVER TURN OFF)

OBS:

- I buy my moto used and i don't have any FOB's.

- My Mechanical say's install other TCM module cause the original have been stoled.

- On the diagnostical panel, the error P1010 show-me on the "P" status.

I think maybe the security system stay on and "stalls" my moto? But i do the test for verify (your other post, but i lost the link) and the status show me status with TSM, without security system. I don't have any more idea.

Bruno....I worked in Salto / Itu area as I see you are north of Sao Paulo which I never traveled too.

Code P1010 is for a missing password.

When the stock TSM module isn't recognized (password) by the ECM (electronic control module) it will cut the bike off and stall it after approximately 1-2 seconds.

Can you get me the part # that is on the sticker on the TSM you just installed? Was this TSM you bought used or new?

Do you have a multimeter to test electrical circuits? You could have an open condition in the wiring also between the TSM and ECM.

He is used. But on the day of them substitute, we testing another TSM other sportster and them no work too.

I can't a multimeter, but i can do it. what are the steps?
