Default The minimalist Sissy Bar

So... I've been searching EVERYWHERE for a decent sissy bar that's removable. I hate the ones harley makes so I designed and made my own. I wanted something that I could put on and take off easily since most of the time I don't need it. And I wanted to be able to have different styles for carrying stuff or just a low grab rail so my chick doesn't feel like she's going to slip off the back fender. I designed the side brackets and had a machine shop make them. I "eyeballed" the 1/2 inch sissy bar and hand bent it with some map gas and elbow grease. Ideally everything would be powder coated but it's just rattle can gloss. Then I put a screw in each bracket to hold it in place. I haven't "fully" tested it but it's a lot more solid than I thought. It doesn't flex much at all when I lean on it.

Anyhow... let me know what you think.

So where does this 'chick' of yours perch?

And yes, it looks well made, just not sure about a couple of screws holding it down???

Looks great we must be on the same wave length-

Here's mine I fabbed together last Sat.

still need to grind down welds and paint...but the seat and sissy bar are separate and will slide into frame using set screws (bolts) so can either go sissy bar only, seat and sissy bar or none of the above-

Did you weld your sliders right to your fender struts?

looks good I like it-

Thanks. Yeah... the "tube" part of the "brackets" are custom ordered to have a tight tolerance with the 1/2 inch bar... the brackets are actually bolted in (using the existing bolts) so there's no damage to the bike. Then the "tube" is drilled... tapped for a screw and the sissy bar is drilled through... so the screws go through it to hold it in (not on it if that's what you were thinking). It could be held with a sturdy cotter pin but I figured the screw would be better. As far as making more goes... if I can figure a way to get the price down I'd be all about it.
