Default Tach/speedo

Has anyone run the Harley Analog tach/digital speedo combo gauge on a 2004-06 with a Dynatek ignition? Does it work? Did you have to do anything special when you set it up? Your supposed to plug the gauge into the data port before installing it so the ignition can transfer odometer readings and such. Does the dynatek ignition do this? Thanks.

you will be fine with any aftermarket ignition, Ive helped a couple friends with daytona ignition modules from hammer kits to install the digital speedo tachcombo on our rubbermount sportys. One reason for this is because the new speedo actually gets its mileage reading from the old speedo. I found that out when i replaced my broken speedo with the new one and had to go to hd and get them to use sw to input milageonto the new speedo. The process is very easy if you replacing a working speedo. Instructions are very easy to follow.

Well, that's the thing Rambler. Its a new build and what it is , is a conversion from EFI to carb. The EFI speedo info is stored in the ECM. Im not so worried about the odometer teading being right, the original bike only had about 1500 miles on it. I'm more worried about the set up process to get the gauge working correctly.
