They appear to be pretty close to original, but the price is steep. Would be interested to know if anyone has tried one out.

i think a big issue would be the seams. also the area where mounting tabs are welded. not to say every one but i have had my share in taiwanese ted repops developing leaks, not to hard to repair unless you got the chrome. it is sad but that is life, no money to be made in the states so over-seas it is, all depends on who controls the quality because the chinese can do exceptional work.

I went back to this web site and the tank now appears to be in stock - too bad there isn't a non-chrome tank available. There are two positive reviews. Does anyone have experience with this tank?

Bought one to use on my P3 Race Bike.
I bought this one at least a year ago, so can't comment on other products or suppliers. But the tank I bought is equal to the original Harley item. I can't really see any differences. The one I bought was half the price of a second hand Harley one.
I have a Harley one I had been repairing. Chasing holes with braze and trying to sort a dent. Not worth the effort anymore. If I needed another one I would just buy the repops.

One of the few pieces I didn’t have in the scrap pile when me and jr pieced together his soon to be ride to high school. Had just about everything else for a ‘63 XLR/XLCH/Ish short framer. Around here we don’t wait around for Amazon very much. So we decided on a little arts and crafts. Should be done soon. Grabbing a sheet of 5 series alum today on the way home from work. A little more sanding and finish work on the buck and Jr gets a lesson in annealing and hammer forming . Won’t be a stock one, but it wil be his!
Started out with a dirty finger chipboard rubbing pattern and an idea.
Perhaps I’ll remember to snap a few pics as we go.

Mike - Are you going to plumb the inside of the tank?

Haven’t decided yet if we will enter all from bottom or in stock locations yet. If standpipes are to be used, interior supports for the pipes will be incorporated.
Tank will be three pieces, top, body and bottom.
Not going for direct OEM, but kind of a squint and wonder if it was an accessory/race dept piece. ……..or scrap metal and a waste of time?? We’ll see.
