This was for consistency, as the bodies are also Sifton. I realize it’s all made in the same Chinese factory

False conclusion, they may have been made 1,000 miles apart from different drawings. I assure, no one made sure they were compatible by a trial fitting. All you need to know: China can't be sued.
The tappet diameter, which is constant 1929 until Evo for ALL engines is .731".

Sorry, didn't intend to be rude, but whatever is wrong with the parts?
1. measure all 4 tappets.
2. if they don't match, they're junk - no quality control. Who knows whether the staked axle will come out?
3. if they do match, try each one in each block.
4. same results? Only 1 is bad. I'd replace it rather than try to re-size.

If that tappet fits tight in the bore now and depending on spring pressure to help it back down I wannna know what happens when the engine warms up......

i had 1 lifter with drag not that long ago.it was free until completely torqued down, back it off a fraction and it's free.i ran it backed off a fraction for a couple days, then tightened it back down.last i checked it's still running free.these were cast iron lifter blocks.

I would ream it +.0002/.0005 it will be concentric.

I'm not an engine builder, just makes sense.

And heats up? Good question
