the lifter roller bearings can be checked without removing the cam cover.with the pushrods removed you can remove the lifter blocks.i,agree with the compression test.

so righteously said mr. mick.
like the sound and curves the iron will do over the sport, just not as fast. it might be just me but the cg of the iron is way better.

Did a compression test last night, warmed the engine up to operating temp and both cylinders we're at 120 exactly. Going to check the timing tomorrow morning. Also going to give the carb a good cleaning. Will update as soon as I'm done! Thanks everyone for all of the help!

IMO - If you warm it up by going for a half hour ride out of city traffic you should get higher numbers. If you warmed it up in the shop or in city traffic you may have fouled plugs.

^^^ Good point. Need full operating temperature plus throttle held wide open while cranking to get the true big reading.
