IMO this is the last drop

allied militarily on NATO side...
harsh competitors about commercial manufacturing
your gov. does the same for italian products... when i was in NY the very same italian cheese, wine etc. cost more than twice overhere in Italy... let alone fashion things like suits and goggles...

why complaining, the redhaired former Präsident of the US rises taxes on foreign goods and the EU did the same. That´s the game they play for the news and voters. Of course that allways hit the not so rich part of the community and not the golfplayers.

Oddly, the Moto Guzzi V85TT I bought was actually not so expensive. I'm trying to figure out how a mostly hand-built Italian bike can be sold cheaper than the equivalent Chinese made BMW. Less than a Nightster and has Brembos and shaft drive.
