Default Aussie Rides

Thought it might be worth raising a title for Aussie riders to put down some suggestions.

I live to the south of Sydney so most of my riding has been in the lower right corner. For those looking for a day run south of Sydney I can recommend Kangaroo valley. Coming from inland there are a few roads that lead to the top of the descent but there is one main road into the valley. In the township the Friendly Inn, right in the middle of town on the main road, does a good feed. On the weekend it can usually be spotted from a distance by all the bikes parked out front. Leaving the valley towards the coast there are two ways out. One goes to Nowra, which is alright but is usually pretty busy or there is a road to Berry. This is off to the left a few k's out of the Kangaroo Valley township. I recommend this road as it is far more scenic and there is less traffic. It is, however, quite narrow in part and there are quite a few tight hairpins.

Heading back up the coast if you take the exit to Kiama, go through town and head for Jambaroo. Nice twisty road through some farmland. There is a nice cafe in Jambaroo ts to stop for a break. Out the other side head for Robertson. Once again a narrow road with lots of hairpins but less traffic than Macquarie pass which leads up to Robertson from Albion Park.

It's been years since I been through Kangaroo valley!
I was in a car with a mate doin an overnighter from Gippsland (where I live) to his mums joint in Sydney and we drove up the coast but he decided to take me through Roo valley for a look.
We watched the sun rise as we drove through it and I was totally awe struck by its beauty!! I swore for years that if I ever won the lottery I'd move there.

Unfortunately I ain't been up that way since the late 80's.
The only time I leave Victoria is briefly as I ride up through Thredbo and down back into Vic where I stay at Bright.

Let me know if ya's ever wanna do a ride in the Snowy Mountains coz I'll try and meet up with ya's. Its my all time favorite ridin area!!

Gronk,

I was down in Sale for a few months last year and did a trip up to the Snowys while I was there. I am sure to do one again soon. Perhaps a run to the Tintaldra pub would be in order. But before it gets too cold

I'm thinking soft in the middle if you want me to ride through the Snowys in winter!

Perhaps before it gets too cold
