It's been a while, and for that I apologize.
Buuut, to answer your questions. I don't know exactly how fast it was, because my gearing was different and my speedo was reading way low. When the speedo said 85 I was about maxed out and a hell of a lot faster than traffic, I'll say that
But anyways, a bit over a week ago the transmission got stuck in 1st gear, with the shifter fork somehow seized onto the shift drum.
Therefore I split the cases, found a very spun wrist pin bushing, and some mild but unsightly scoring of the cylinder walls.
I decided the wise decision is to send the cases to hammer performance, get them bored for a 45ci cylinder, get some headwork, new cams, etc...
Handed the cases off to Hammer this morning! I'll let you guys know when my stuff starts getting done

Well, I definitely failed at that. Last I updated, I handed my cases and head to hammer performance. That was October of 2021. I got the engine back a few months ago, after continuously adding more things to the bill.
I got the sledge head service, cases bored half of a 90ci kit, S&S roller rockers, upgraded clutch, zippers pushrods tubes and hammer adjustable pushrods, upgraded the oil pump, had the flywheels balanced by darkhorse, basically everything.
Since then I've also installed an XR1200 upper and lower rocker box, and polished the lower rocker box and painted the upper to harley's texture black case paint. Also I painted the cases black. Polished the intake manifold as well. Also stripped the paint and polished the clutch cover. A lot of polishing.
Also, I'm switching all of my lines (oil lines, vents lines, etc...) to stainless steel hard lines, with sections of braided steel to allow for flex. Also going to use my swingarm as my oil tank, which won't be too difficult because it's currently an XB12x swingarm. I'm using -AN fittings for all of of my lines. The stainless lines will be polished too ofc. Lots of polishing like I said.
My taste's have changed a lot since the last time I had the engine. Working in a motorcycle will do that I guess. Not gonna be as Rat. Much more polished you might say. I've also decided to scrap the stock frame, since I'm gonna be using the swingarm instead of the frame as the oil tank. The frame on the blast is extremely simple. The engine hangs from the frame, with one mount by the steering head, and one at the rear near the swingarm. There's two tie rods to prevent twisting and side to side movement. Add the shock mount, and its done. About 3 feet of chromoly tubing and a square foot of plate is all that I'll need to complete it.
Gonna go for a very different look this run. One clean line from the steering head to shock mount, then the shock will continue that line down toward the axle. A bit of the classic chopper line, but without any frame under the engine. I think it'll look quite nice.
Anywho, here's some photos of the progress:

Loving this rocker box setup. You can see the crankcase vent line as well.

There's the clutch cover, after polishing.
Also, where the crankcase and transmission vents meet up. I'll need some brackets to keep all the lines lined up, but they'll be looking sweet. Especially after polishing. Lots of polishing.

A few other things I forgot the mention.
The cylinder is a cast iron hammer cylinder, from a 90ci kit, but my displacement is less than half of that, because the blast has a shorter stroke, just like the xb9 motors. Its about 604cc or about 36.9ci with the new cylinder, and has 11-1 compression ratio. When I got the flywheels balanced I had considered stroking it, but I think I'll enjoy a more quickly revving engine, especially with the 560 cams.
