Ah gotcha. Yeah, I guess my career being repair manuals for cars, trucks, boats, and bikes, I sometimes forget there might be "service manuals" for anything non-motive.

There is a saying here (at least where I live), that real man don't need a service manual or instruction (manual), he learns by doing and using an apparatus.
To many of us (who could somehow read and write) it's a joke... But I hate to say that many men still thinks it's somehow shameful to use a manual.

It's always one of my first purchases when I get a new bike. I made my daughter buy one when she got her Sporty 2 1/2 years ago. She hates it, but I make her read it before we do any work on her bike. She's still learning the value.

Absolutely. I'm one of those people who read the owners manual cover to cover every time I get a new to me vehicle of any kind. Haven't quite read the service manual cover to cover yet.

Here's what you're looking for. Part Number 99484-69 - Service Manual - Sportster - 1959 to 1969.
I put just the part number into google and found a bunch of places where it is for sale. Now that you have the P/N, you might even be able to get one from the HD dealer if you try there.

You're welcome. That's the same manual I use for my '62.

I would never work on a bike without the haines clymer or factory bible. Every one that I have is used and dirty and greasy. The important notes I wrote in the note section. It is like the family bible with birth, wedding and death dates.
